Blues pin into the most spectacular baby mushrooms I’ve ever seen. They can be bright blue, like neon! It’s crazy.
Like the rest, they start to double in size every 24 hours in the fruiting chamber. It’s a complete thrill that’s far better than sea monkeys.
Blue oyster mushrooms lose colour as they become ready for harvest. They become a much lighter grey/blue.
We use full spectrum light cycles to improve vibrancy and the Vitamin D of all our mushrooms, but nothing can keep that vibrant baby blue, so very few people ever get to see them like that.
We’ve been working on a “Blue to Plate” project without cost efficient results. Maybe one day.
Uncle Jimmy always says “There’s no Blue Food!” He hates when I remind him about blueberries, so I seldom bother. He really wants Blue to Plate or even Blue mushroom powder.
